| Yes I own a shirt that says I'm cool with Jesus, and yes I love it. |
My name
is Larysa and I am the Crafty Catechist. I've been teaching the kindergarten
catechism class at my catholic church for the last three years. Among my fellow
Sunday school teachers I'm known for my creative projects (often Pinterest
inspired) and I thought I might as well share them!
I grew up
in the Catholic Church and was blessed to attend both a catholic middle and
high school. It was actually a project in high school that prompted me to get
involved in my church's Religious Education program, and I could not be more
grateful for the opportunity!
As a
Sunday school teacher, I often found the kindergarten curriculum to be lacking,
and I soon began finding crafts to fill up extra class time. (After all,
there's only so much coloring one kindergartner can do!) However, trying to
find fun, engaging projects for kindergartners that also related to our lessons
each week was sometimes easier said than done. Often I combine ideas from my
teaching book with inspiration from Pinterest and other niches of the internet
to create something that will further instill our lesson of the week, while
still being fun and relatively easy for the little ones!
If you
ever have a question or comment about a project or an idea you'd like to share,
feel free to leave a comment!
